Movie Review

I watched No Reservation in winter vacation with Meiko. This movie is American love comedy. The main character is Kate who is a chef and a perfectionist.
One day she lost her sister because of traffic accident. Then she began to take care of her sister's daughtor, Zoe. She cooked meals for Zoe, but Zoe would not eat. Kate was very depressed.
Then a new staff joined as a chef at Kate's restaurant. His name is Nick. His character is exactly opposite from Kate. However, as she work with him, she noticed that something lacking with her meal.

I thought this movie showed the importance of relationship with a lot of people. In fact, when Kate was depressed with her cooking, she met Nick and could notice something lack. In addition, I thought that food could make people relationship better after watching this movie.

Restaurant Report

I went to TOM BOY with Meiko. This restaurant is Indian cuisine, especially curry and nan.
This restaurant is near Shibuya station and 2nd basement of TOHO CINEMAS. This restaurant is opened from 11 o'clock to 24 o'clock and don't have holiday. The atmosphere is very ethnic.
The clerks greeted us in a pleasing manner and they came to us in order to serve water within 3 minutes when we sat on our seats. And after a few minutes, they came again and litened our order very kindly. This restaurant has several kinds of lunch menu. Suprisingly, if students show their student card, the price of lunch down 100 yen. This is very attractive point for us.
We ate curry and nan. These taste was very good but a little bit spicy for us. In lunch time, we can ask for more nans for free. This point is also attractive.

2nd Harvest Japan's Charles Mcjilton

I didn't know this fact that each day in Tokyo 6000 tons of food are thrown away and I was very surprised to read this part. Charles McJilton knew that there must be a better way to reduce waste and get food to those who need it. So he started NGO in Japan and they have redistributed over 8000 tons of food. In addition, since 2011, they have also provided food and disaster relief supplies to the Tohoku religion.
He first came to Japan in 1984 and he was the CEO of 2nd Harvest Japan since 2002. He is also an adjunct professor at Sophia University teaching NGO management and issues related to the nonprofit sector. He worked at several Asian countries and worked with food problem.
I read this pages, the food problem was more severe than what I thought. So I'm very looking forward to listening to his story tomorrow.

The special lecture on November 22th

On November 22th, I went to the different class room as usual and listened to the songs sung by Steve Gardner. I really enjoyed listening to his music because I don't listen foreign music like his song. The Chicken song was so interestied for me. I was very impressed by almost all of his songs.
Then, after listening his song, we moved to another class room and talked about him and food culture. The most interedted story for me was Coca Cola story. He told us a lot of things that I didn't know. So it was the good opportunity to learn cultural music and food culture.

Reading book

This chapter said that Italians were celebrated for their ices, and,in turn, they celebrated ices. In addition, poets and novelists wrote paeans to ices. And this chapter has a few Italian words. It is very interesting for me.
The most interesting part in this chapter was that vanilla was not as ubiquitous a flavor as it is now. It came to Europe, originally from Mexico in the sixteenth century.
When I read this book, I always want to eat ice creams and my interests became bigger. So I read more pages soon.

Weight Loss Tips- Oatmeal

The woman said that she and her family members eat oatmeal every morning as a breakfast.
If you want to make it in the morning, it takes 30 minutes to cook this in order to adjust your health easier. So she does every night before going to bed.
She adds cinnamon because she likes it. So if you want to make it a little bit sweet, you can add some berries as you like. Then you add boiled water in the bowl just cover oatmeal and swish a little.
These kind of process can help you to have healthy meal in the morning.
